Tiles De Santa Fe
Tiles de Santa Fe, was established in 1970, By Savern “Bud” Watson, long before Home Depot and Lowes were around. Bud Watson developed an idea that tile could be made locally in the tradition of early La Luz pottery in New Mexico in the 1930s and Saltillo tiles of soft clay imported from Mexico. Seeing a need and an appreciation for handmade “Bud” began to build the better and available floor tile.
A third-generation tile maker himself. Bud began to make and develop prototypes that were a terra cotta tile made from limestone cement and quartz with various shade of pigment to control color.
